Issues of sexuality permeate all of our lives and are always present in our interpersonal encounters. In this sense, existential sexuality is always present as an aspect of what clients bring to therapy and indeed cannot be excluded from the therapeutic encounter. Difficulties around sexual relationships and sexual orientation may be seen as specific aspects of sexuality within the broader context of existential sexuality as an inter-relational phenomenon in a person’s life. I have considerable experience of working with both gay and heterosexual clients on issues of sexuality and have written various articles and book chapters on existential sexuality.
